You wake up on a Tuesday morning. You get to work, sit down and think, “Just one more day till Wednesday, then I’ll be halfway through the week. Once I get through Friday, I can finally have some fun.”
I’m ashamed to admit how many times I’ve caught myself thinking this way, but I decided I need to stop.
Why did I think it was ok to only enjoy 2 of the 7 days of the week? I wouldn’t accept 2/7 of my paycheck or 2/7 of my birthday presents.
Life is too short to enjoy so little of it.
I challenge you to try and do something (even if it’s small) every day that will make you happy. Something you can look forward to.
It could be 30 minutes listening to your favorite album, coffee with a good friend, an hour in a good book, a hike through the woods, a massage, a phone call with someone special, trivia night, a bike ride, going to see a game, a play, a movie, a good meal, exploring a new part of town, writing, painting, singing, dancing…
It doesn’t matter what it is – as long as it makes you happy. Find time for one small thing, every day.
You deserve more than 2/7 of your life.
